New TVS electric scooter with 80 km range to be launched soon! observed during testing

TVS showcased its Creon EV concept at the 2018 Auto Expo and now an alleged electric scooter based on the concept has been spied on road testing. Currently, TVS, one of the top two-wheeler manufacturers in India, has only the iQube electric scooter in its electric mobility portfolio, which makes it to the list of popular electric two-wheelers in the country. It appears that TVS is all set to launch its second electric scooter. It is no secret that TVS intends to expand its electric scooter range in the country with huge investments and the upcoming range may include the production Creon.

The test unit was hidden by camouflage, but the picture shows some minor details of it. The photos reveal that the alleged electric scooter will come with square rear view mirrors, similar to what is seen on the TVS iQube.

It also gets a bigger instrument panel, integrated grab rails and step-up seat design. Apart from this, the scooter gets a low-set, tall seat and ergonomically set handlebar. The report says that some components of the new TVS electric scooter will be sourced from iQube.

At present, the name of this scooter or its specifications have not been given. However, talking about the TVS Creon concept, it has three lithium-ion battery packs along with a 12kW electric motor. According to the company’s claim, it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 kmph in 5.1 seconds and providing a range of 80 km. The concept model is designed on an aluminum perimeter frame, and comes with cloud connectivity, geofencing, park assist, safety/anti-theft features, regenerative braking system and three riding modes. It also gets a TFT screen, a smartphone charger and underseat storage.
