The new Skoda Slavia sedan is presented, which should replace the Rapid liftback on the market. It is built on the MQB A0 IN platform built for India, which also underpins Kushaq and Taigun. Pre-orders for the Skoda Slavia have already started, and deliveries to customers are due to begin in the first quarter of 2022.
The Slavia is 4541 mm long, 1752 mm wide and 1487 mm high with a 2651 mm wheelbase. Compared to the Rapid, the Slavia is 128mm longer, 53mm wider, 21mm taller, and the car’s wheelbase is 99mm longer. In fact, the Slavia not only has the longest wheelbase, but also the widest in its class. It also has an impressive 521-liter trunk.
The new Skoda Slavia is reminiscent of the Octavia A8 with its wide radiator grille and narrow LED headlights. You can also notice similarities with the new generation Volkswagen Polo Sedan (Virtus), with which the car shares the MQB-A0-IN platform. The Slavia is equipped with 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels. The car is offered in five color options – Tornado Red, Crystal Blue, Candy White, Reflex Silver and Carbon Steel.
The top-end versions have an 8-inch digital instrument panel and a 10-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment system. Skoda Slavia also offers keyless entry, climate control, navigation, seat ventilation, wireless charging of smartphones and a rear-view camera in the maximum configuration. But even the basic version has a 7-inch touchscreen display.
Skoda Slavia will receive 1.0 and 1.5 liter petrol turbo engines with 115 and 150 hp. respectively. There are 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions to choose from, and the top-end is equipped with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The price in India will start at $ 13.5 thousand.
