New Delhi: Volkswagen Virtus Unveil Look Features: Recently, a new midsize sedan Skoda Slavia has been launched in India, which has come to replace the Skoda Rapid. Now Volkswagen has also unveiled the new midsize sedan Volkswagen Virtus for the Indian market, which will replace the company’s fancier sedan Volkswagen Vento in the coming times. The all-new Volkswagen Virtus was unveiled today and will take on the best-selling Honda City in the midsize sedan car segment as well as the new Skoda Slavia, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. The special thing is that the Volkswagen Virtus has most of the features along with the same platform and engine as the Skoda Slavia. But both the sedans are quite different in appearance.
Specially designed for the Indian market
The Volkswagen Virtus is developed on the MQB AO IN platform in partnership with Skoda and Volkswagen, similar to the Skoda Slavia. The Vertus has come with bigger and more features than the Vento. The sedan is 4561mm long, 1752mm wide and 1507mm high. The Vertus has a wheelbase of 2651mm, which is the longest in its segment. Volkswagen Vertus gets single slate grille with chrome surround, LED projector headlamps with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs, wide air dam, dual tone alloy wheels, shark fin antenna, door handles with chrome inserts, contrast black ORVMs and sloping roofline are being seen.
The Volkswagen Virtus is offered in 6 attractive color options along with the GT Line trim. At the same time, talking about engine and power, 2 engine options are being seen in it, in which the 1.0 liter 3 cylinder turbo petrol engine is capable of generating 108bhp power and 175Nm torque. At the same time, the 1.5 liter 4 cylinder TSI petrol engine is capable of generating 147bhp power and 250Nm torque. This new sedan is offered in 6 speed manual and 6 speed torque converter automatic as well as 7 speed DSG automatic transmission options.
