Mahindra Thar Spy Shots: Mahindra Thar 5-door (5-Door Mahindra Thar) has been spied once again under testing. The SUV can be seen very closely in the new pictures. Although the SUV was covered so that its design could not be revealed, but still the pictures give a lot of information. The pictures have revealed its new visual elements. The rear side of the SUV gets a boot mounted spare tire similar to the three-door version. Along with this, new high mounted brake lights are available. It looks like it will get a fixed metal hard top.
If you look at the side profile, then it will see rear quarter glass with new doors. Along with this, there will be a feeling of long wheelbase. The 5-door version will see squared wheel arches instead of the round wheel arches found in the current model. The design of its alloy wheels can also be new. However, its front look may be similar to the current model. The 5-door Mahindra Thar may get Pentalink suspension with Scorpio-N, which will help in providing a more comfortable ride.
The SUV can be brought in different seating configurations as it was earlier also seen in a three-row layout during testing. However, the interior of the car is not visible at all in the recent pictures. However, A-pillar mounted grab handles can be seen, which will help in getting in and out of the cabin. It is believed that minor changes (compared to the current model) can be made in its cabin. The company can also offer some new features in it, such as bigger touchscreen, auto climate control, six airbags and rear parking camera etc.
Currently, the Mahindra Thar 3-door version comes in a price range of Rs 13.59 lakh to Rs 16.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the price of the 5-door version can be kept higher than the 3-door version. In the market, it will compete with the upcoming 5-door version of Force Gurkha and Maruti Jimny.
