The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is presented in South Africa. The Indian-made Grand Vitara will go on sale next year with the same engine options and features that India gets.
The recently introduced Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the automaker’s flagship, was unveiled in South Africa, Maruti Suzuki’s first export market for the SUV.
Maruti Suzuki plans to launch the nee Grand Vitara in South Africa next year, replacing the Suzuki Vitara currently sold in the country. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara for the South African market is built in India and exported.
For the South African market, the new Grand Vitara will be more or less identical to the model that will soon be launched in India, with minor changes.
In terms of engine specs, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara for South Africa gets the same engines, a 101hp 1.5-liter mild hybrid and a 1.5-liter 114hp Toyota hybrid.
Transmission options also remain the same, with the mild-hybrid version getting a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic, while the string-hybrid engine gets a CVT transmission. Maruti Suzuki will also offer the All-Grip AWD system, but unlike the India model, the automatic version also gets South Africa AWD.
In terms of equipment too, the Grand Vitara is similar for South Africa, getting a power sunroof, wireless charging, reclining second-row seats, a 9-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and navigation, 360-degree camera, cruise control and more .
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara for the South African market will join other Maruti Suzuki models sold in the country such as the Swift, Baleno, S-Presso, Dzire and the Ertiga.
