New Generation Renault Duster: Renault Duster is one of the most popular SUV cars in the global market. This car was first launched in 2009 in the European market. For the last few years, the company has stopped selling this car in the country, but its second generation model is still being sold in some countries. Now the company has started testing its third generation model, which is to be launched in the global market in 2024.
Will be ready on new platform
The second generation Duster currently sold in the global market is based on the M0 platform, which is also used for the Captur and Nissan Kicks sold in India. The third generation model will be built on Renault-Nissan’s CMF-B modular platform. Which is currently used for global models Dacia Logan, Sandero and Dacia Jogger. This platform is used for multiple body styles and engine options including petrol and hybrid. It can also be prepared as an EV in the future.
2024 renault duster design
The spy pictures reveal that the new Duster will be bigger than before and the cabin will also get more space. Along with this, many of its styling elements will be taken from the big Bigster concept SUV, which was unveiled by the company in early 2021, whose production model is expected to hit the Indian market in the year 2024-25.
The front design of the new Duster will be similar to the Bigster, with horizontal headlamps, a slim grille and an angular bumper. It will get to see square shaped wheel arches with strong cladding and Y shaped tail lamps and much more.
How will the engine be?
According to media reports, a 1.0L TCe turbo petrol engine and a 1.0L Eco-G dual fuel engine can be found in this SUV. Which can generate outputs of 110hp/200Nm and 100hp/170Nm respectively. It will also get a hybrid powertrain, in which a 1.2kWh battery pack can be found with a 1.3L turbo petrol engine.
When will it be launched?
According to Renault, it is going to launch two new SUVs based on the new CMF-B modular platform in India by 2025. In which the next generation Duster will be launched in 2024 and a new 7-seater SUV in 2025.
Who will compete with?
This car will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta MG Aster and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The Maruti Grand Vitara gets a 1.5 L, K series engine, which is equipped with mild hybrid and strong hybrid technology.
