Delhi: BMW-owned British luxury car marquee Mini has officially revealed some technical details of its upcoming new Cooper electric three-door hatchback. The automaker has revealed that the upcoming new Mini Cooper Electric can run for 300 to 400 kilometers on a single charge. Apart from this, this Mini Cooper will come with many special features. The upcoming Mini Cooper Electric will be the first model in the automaker’s next-generation vehicle line-up. The car brand claims that this EV promises electric driving fun to the driver. According to the claims, the car will be available in two different power variants. It will be sold only in the three-door hatchback body style.
300 km range on a single charge
The entry level Mini Cooper E will come with a single front axle mounted electric motor. The G will generate 181 bhp power. As per the automaker’s claims, the floor-mounted electric motor will deliver 40.7 kWh of power. Which will give a range of 300 km after charging once. The high variant will be a very powerful variant. Known as the Mini Cooper SE, the front axle will be driven by an electric motor. It generates maximum power of 181 HP. This variant will generate power from a bigger 54.2 kWh battery pack. It will give a maximum range of 400 km.
Minimum range of EV 386 km
Mini Boss said that the EV will have a minimum range of 386 km on a single charge. The carmaker has now clarified that only the Cooper SE will get a range of 400 kms. While the entry level variant will give the least range after a single charge. This is still better than the previous generation’s range of 233 km.
