It looks like the Apple Watch Series 8 smartwatch will be a fairly significant upgrade from the current generation. Including a new larger model may appear in the lineup.
Ross Young, founder of research firms Display Supply Chain Consultants and DisplaySearch, revealed that Apple will launch a 1.99-inch watch. In comparison, Apple Watches are now available in 41mm and 45mm versions with screen sizes of 1.691 and 1.901 inches, respectively.
The source speaks of the new version, precisely as a third one, that is, in addition to the existing ones. But in this case, the difference between the 45 mm version and the new one in the screen area will be only 5%, and it is not very clear why such a separate model is needed.
However, firstly, it is possible that we are still talking about an increase in the current larger version by 5%. Secondly, a protected model should appear in the new line, and, as an option, it will receive a slightly larger screen, and the regular Apple Watch will still be available in only two sizes.
