It is known that Neutron will receive an Archimedes engine powered by methane and liquid oxygen. The rocket will be able to launch a load of about 8 and 15 tons into low-earth orbit, depending on the configuration. The eight-ton load will be discharged on the first stage, equipped with seven engines, this stage will return home. The fifteen-ton payload will be output in the second stage with one engine without returning.
The launch weight of the launch vehicle will be 480 tons. Length – 40 meters, diameter at the base – 7 meters. The rocket narrows towards its apex.
The launch is due in 2024 from Wallops Island, Virginia. Once launched, the first stage of the Neutron will return home.
