Preparations for this have been done in advance. Not only this, UGC Chairman Jagdish Kumar says that in the coming times, big exams like NEET and JEE can also be merged with CUET to form a big national exam.
Will be announced in advance
In an interview to PTI, UGC Chairman Jagdish Kumar said that NEET and JEE may be merged with CUET and only one exam will be conducted for all. However, at least two years before this happens, students will be informed about this, that is, it will be told in advance.
Decision will be taken according to NEP
On the merger of both the examinations, the UGC chairman said that it can absolutely be done, but before that all the details will be worked out. Students will be told at least two years before the merger. He said that even in NEP 2020, it has been clearly said that the burden of the students should be reduced through a single national level entrance exam. We want to prepare the students mentally for what may happen in the future. For this, work is going on at the internal level.
This time more preparations were done for CUET
The UGC chairman also talked about the additional preparations made this time for the CUET to be conducted properly. He said that such centers have already been identified where problems may arise. More attention is being given to the infrastructure, computers, bandwidth etc. so that the situation like last time does not arise. Even separate extra centers have also been made so that if there is a problem, the students can be shifted and the examination does not have to be cancelled. The schedule has also been fixed in such a way that the academic calendar can be followed properly. This time the exam will be in three shifts.
