NASA unveils spacesuit for first astronaut landing on the moon since 1972

The US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has partnered with Axiom Space to unveil the Artemis III spacesuit for the lunar mission. The first prototype was demonstrated to students and journalists at the Space Center in Houston.
It is these spacesuits that will be worn by the first NASA astronauts who will go to explore the South Pole of the Moon. NASA Director Bill Nelson said:

NASA’s partnership with Axiom is critical to landing astronauts on the Moon and maintaining America’s leadership in space. Based on years of NASA research and experience, the next-generation Axiom suits will not only enable the first woman to walk on the moon, but will open up the possibility for more people than ever before to conduct scientific research on the moon.

The Artemis III mission provides for the launch of the Space Launch System launch vehicle with the Orion spacecraft in 2025. According to the agency’s plans, this will be the second manned flight of the Orion, followed by the first landing of astronauts on the moon since 1972.
