NASA chooses 10 people to fly to the moon

The future astronauts were chosen from more than 12 thousand people. These ten people are now part of the so-called Artemis Generation. Artemis is a US government-funded manned space program to send humans to the moon. As part of the program, the Americans want to send the first woman and the first black man to the Earth satellite. The flight dates have already been set for 2025.

The recruits will undergo two years of training at the Lyndon Johnson Space Center. It includes flying on T-38 jet planes, working with robots and much more. If all goes well, the lucky ones will become full-fledged astronauts.

Most of the ten selected have military experience, with some currently or formerly serving in the US Air Force and Navy.
