Let us tell you that mutual fund companies have added 51 lakh investor accounts in the June quarter. Due to the increasing awareness about mutual funds, its craze is being seen a lot among people. It is considered to be the best option to invest money in today’s time.
Number of folios will increase
Let us tell you that during the April-June quarter, 51 lakh investor accounts have been added. Due to this their total number increased to 13.46 crores. Experts expect the number of folios to increase further in the current financial year due to spread of awareness about mutual funds and ease of transactions through digitisation.
93 lakh accounts were opened in the March quarter
According to the data of Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi), an association of mutual fund companies, 93 lakh accounts were opened in the March quarter. While 3.2 crore accounts have been added during the last 12 months. Although the increase in the number of accounts during April-June was less as compared to the March quarter, it has increased. This is an indication that investors have continued to invest despite the volatility in the market.
Investment advisor Priya Agarwal said geopolitical crises like Russia-Ukraine war, rising inflation, tough action by central banks on interest rates are some of the reasons which have led to the increase in the number of folios. According to the data of Amfi, the number of accounts of 43 mutual fund companies increased to 13.46 crore in June, 2022 as compared to 12.95 crore in March, 2021. In this way, 51 lakh new accounts have been opened during this period. The industry had crossed the 100 million accounts mark in May, 2021.
