Bangalore: Infosys Science Foundation awards: The Infosys Science Foundation (ISF) has announced the winners of the Infosys Prize 2022. These awards have been announced for six departments namely Engineering and Computer Science, Humanities, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences. This award is given by Infosys Prize to those who have performed brilliantly in the field of science and research. The award consists of a gold medal, a medal and $100,000 (or equivalent in Indian Rupees).
Infosys Prize 2022 winners in six categories were announced on this occasion. Suman Chakraborty, Dean of Research and Development Department and Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, was awarded in the Department of Engineering and Computer Science. The Infosys Prize 2022 in Humanities has been awarded to Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Chancellor of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Infosys Prize 2022 for Life Sciences was awarded to Vidita Vaidya, Professor of Neurobiology, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences Award was presented to Mahesh Kakade, Professor of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The Infosys Prize 2022 in the Physical Sciences category was awarded to Professor Nissim Kanekar of the National Center for Radio Astronomy, Pune. The Infosys Prize 2022 in the Social Sciences category was awarded to Henry J., Director of the Center for Economic Growth at Yale University and Professor of Economics. Hines II was awarded to Professor Rohini Pandey. Infosys Science Foundation Trustees Kris Gopalakrishnan, Narayan Murthy, Srinath Batni, K. Dinesh, Mohandas Pai, Salil Parekh and S.D. Shibulal and other dignitaries were present.
