Motorola showed the concept of a smartphone with an unfolding screen

At Lenovo Tech World, Motorola demonstrated interesting concept. This is a smartphone with a screen that can be unfolded and collapsed – all you need to do is press a button. As a result, the device can be more compact or, on the contrary, full-sized – depending on the needs of its owner. Display sizes range from 5 to 6.5 inches. While there are no details about the characteristics of the model and it is not clear whether its serial production is planned: at the moment it is only a concept.

It is speculated that this type of device could be lighter and thinner than, for example, foldable smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. By the way, Samsung is now the market leader in foldable smartphones: according to Counterpoint Research, the company accounts for 62% of the global market, the second position is occupied by Huawei – its market share is 16%. Experts also expect the foldable phone market to grow by 73% this year, which means that users are increasingly interested in devices that can be folded, folded or rolled, so Motorola’s new solution could be very popular.
