Motorola has introduced new foldable smartphones, the razr 50 and razr 50 Ultra, in China. These phones may soon arrive in India as well.

The razr 50 Ultra features a 6.9-inch FHD+ foldable display with LTPO pOLED technology, offering a refresh rate ranging from 1 to 165Hz. It also boasts a 4-inch FHD+ pOLED screen on the outside, a significant improvement from Motorola’s previous foldable phones. Both models are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor and come with a 4,000mAh battery supporting wired and wireless charging.

For those interested in purchasing, the razr 50 is available in Moon Velvet Black, Elephant Gray, and Passion Orange colors. Prices start at 3699 yuan (around Rs 42,500) for the 8GB + 256GB model and go up to 3999 yuan (approximately Rs 45,945) for the 12GB + 512GB variant.

The razr 50 Ultra, offered in Vintage Denim, Modern Green, and Soft Peach Limited Edition colors, is priced at 5699 yuan (about Rs 65,470) for the 12GB + 256GB version and 6199 yuan (around Rs 71,220) for the 12GB + 512GB model. These models are expected to be available in India soon.

As for specifications, let’s start with the razr 50 Ultra. It features a 6.9-inch FHD+ pOLED LTPO display with a resolution of 2640×1080 pixels and supports Dolby Vision with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The external 4-inch display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, it includes Adreno 735 GPU, up to 12GB of RAM, and runs on Android 14 OS. It supports dual SIM with one slot for an e-SIM. The phone sports a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP 2X telephoto camera, and a 32MP front camera. It supports 5G and packs a 4,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging and 15W wireless charging, weighing 189 grams.

On the other hand, the razr 50 features a 6.9-inch display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 2600 nits. It has a 3.6-inch external display with a 90Hz refresh rate, both protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 processor with up to 12GB of RAM, it also runs on Android 14 OS with dual SIM support. The phone includes a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera. It weighs 188 grams and comes with a 4,200mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

Razr 50 Ultra

  • Powerful Specs: This one goes all-in on performance with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, likely offering buttery smooth operation and handling demanding tasks.
  • Large Screens: It unfolds to a big 6.9-inch main display with a smooth 165Hz refresh rate for a great viewing experience. You also get a decent-sized 4-inch cover screen for checking notifications or using quick functions without unfolding the phone.
  • Decent Cameras: The Razr 50 Ultra sports a dual-camera system on the back, featuring a 50MP main sensor and another 50MP sensor, although the specifics of the second sensor are unknown yet.

Razr 50 (The Affordable Option)

  • Mid-Range Processor: This version opts for the Dimensity 7300X processor, which should still provide good performance for everyday use.
  • Large Main Display: Similar to the Ultra, it has a big 6.9-inch main display when unfolded.
  • Bigger Cover Screen: Compared to last year’s Razr, the Razr 50 has a larger 3.6-inch cover display, making it more functional.
  • Capable Camera: It keeps the 50MP main sensor from the Ultra, but pairs it with a more basic 13MP ultrawide sensor.
