Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 4 clamshell smartphone yesterdayand today Lenovo answered this with its Moto RAZR 2022. Both models are based on the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC, but the new Moto is cheaper and bypasses the Samsung device in a number of ways.
So, Moto RAZR 2022 is the world’s first clamshell smartphone with a flexible screen with a frame rate of 144 Hz. The display is from a local supplier, Huaxing Optoelectronics. It is protected by ultra-thin glass, characterized by a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels.
Whereas the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s outer screen is just 1.9 inches, the RAZR 2022 has a much larger outer screen at 2.7 inches and a resolution of 800 x 573 pixels. This OLED panel is supplied by BOE. There are 9 widgets for the outdoor display, including one that can be used to control the camera.
In terms of cameras, the RAZR 2022 is again better than the Galaxy Z Flip 4. So, the main sensor is a 50-megapixel OmniVision OV50A with an optical format of 1/1.55 inches. It works in conjunction with a wide-angle lens and optical image stabilization. An additional module is with a 13-megapixel sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens. The front camera of the model is 32-megapixel.
Moto RAZR 2022 also received stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3500 mAh battery with support for 30 W fast wired charging. The thickness of the device when folded is 16.99 mm, when unfolded it is 7.62 mm. Weight – 198 grams.
Moto RARZ 2022 is already available for order in China. The price of the basic version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory is $890. Recall that the cost of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 starts at $ 1,100 (in the US). Other RAZR 2022 options are 8/256GB for $965 and 12/512GB for $1,085.
