The Moscow government has allocated 130 million rubles for the implementation of a program for the development of a public network of charging stations for electric vehicles. The corresponding decree was signed by Sergei Sobyanin.
According to the press service, these funds will allow the installation of 50 more modern charging stations for electric vehicles by the end of 2022.
Currently, 109 charging stations for electric vehicles are operating in Moscow, of which 42 stations (about 40 percent) comply with the new city standard approved by the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development.
EZS of the new standard are integrated into the mobile application “Moscow Transport”, with the help of which drivers can book and activate a charging session, build a route to the nearest station. An important advantage of the new EZS is the ability to charge an electric vehicle in 20 minutes.
Currently, work is underway to place 200 charging stations of the new standard. In total, the plans are to place 600 stations by 2023.
