Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova shared fresh figures. According to her, as of November 19, 2021, the number of people vaccinated with the first component of the vaccine amounted to more than 66 million people. In turn, 59 million citizens of the country have already gone through the full vaccination cycle.
Moreover, in Moscow, St. Petersburg, as well as in the Moscow, Belgorod and Murmansk regions, over 60% of residents were vaccinated from COVID-19.
At the same time, as noted by the immunologist Mikhail Kostinova, even such indicators are not enough to “work” herd immunity. This is because in this case, the remaining 50% are still not protected and can easily get sick.
