Because, through the phone number, known and unknown people can communicate with each other on WhatsApp. Recently, cybercriminals have stolen the phone numbers of more than 48.7 million WhatsApp users. They have also advertised on online forums of hackers to sell this information. As a result, the information security of WhatsApp users is at risk, Cyber News said in a report.
According to Cyber News, the phone numbers of WhatsApp users in 84 countries are in the hands of cybercriminals. This huge database contains the information of 30.5 million users in Italy, 20.9 million users in Saudi Arabia, 3.2 million users in the United States, 1.1 million users in the United Kingdom and 10 million users in Russia.
