Eid moon has been seen in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Imam Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, Imam of Lucknow Idgah, announced that Eid will be celebrated on 31 March today.

According to reports, the appearance of the moon has been confirmed in many parts of the country. On Sunday evening, Eid will be celebrated on 31 March across India after seeing the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr in all major cities of the country including New Delhi, Lucknow, Bangalore, Noida, Kolkata, Chennai, Patna and Mumbai. With the appearance of the moon, the month of Shawwal has started. After 30 days of fasting, the holy month of Ramadan has ended and Shawwal has started. This is the 10th month of the Islamic calendar which comes after the end of Ramadan.
Important festival for Muslims
Eid is an important festival for the Muslim community. Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the major festivals of Islam. People of Muslim community keep fasting for the whole month of Ramadan.
