Cooler Master introduced a product called Oracle Air. According to the manufacturer, this is a revolutionary aluminum M.2 storage enclosure system.
In general, this is just an enclosure for creating an external SSD, equipped with a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 interface with data transfer rates up to 1000 Mbps. Of course, we are talking about the capabilities of the interface, and the actual speed will also depend on the drive itself.
However, Cooler Master would not call its product revolutionary out of nowhere. The device has a number of interesting features that distinguish it from similar products. For example, a design that allows you to quickly and without tools install or remove an SSD in just four steps. You can also highlight the MOLLE mount, which makes it easy to attach the device to a backpack.
In addition, it is worth noting the issue of cooling. The company says that the design implements two-level cooling with thermal pads and a radiator. Considering the heating of modern SSDs, this will obviously not be superfluous.
Interestingly, Cooler Master focuses on gamers in its press release, although, of course, the new product can be used for completely different tasks.
It remains to be added that the dimensions of the device are 128.5 x 42 x 18.5 mm, the case is made of aluminum, M.2 2280, 2260, 2242, 2240, 2230 format drives are supported, and Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS are supported among the OS and Android. On sale in Russia the device will appear in September. In Europe the price is 60 euros.
