1. Tinted glass

  • There are certain rules that have to be followed when it comes to installing tinted glass in a car.
  • The visibility of this glass must be 50 percent.
  • If there is less visibility than this, you can be invoiced.
  • As per Rule 100 of the Central Motor Vehicles Act (CMVA) of 1988, all cars in India must have a minimum visibility of 70% for the windscreen and rear window glass. Whereas, a minimum of 50% visibility is mandatory for the side-windows of cars.

2. High decibel horn

  • It is illegal to use a loud horn in a car.
  • If you apply it, you may have to pay an invoice.
  • The Government of India has set guidelines for the horns of cars plying in the country.
  • According to these, horns of more than 100 decibels are not allowed for normal cars or four wheelers.

3. Modified silencer

  • Loud modified silencer should never be installed in the car. By doing this your challan can be deducted.
  • The cars have catalytic converters in the company-fitted exhaust pipes and hence, they not only control the amount of emissions in the air but also keep it quieter.
  • Avoid installing loud exhaust.

4. After market registration plate

  • The Government of India has made high security registration plates mandatory for all vehicles running in the country.
  • You cannot use fancy registration plates in your car.
  • If you do this then you may have to pay an invoice.

If you do not do this, then the traffic police can deduct your challan.
