The journalists of the Notebookcheck portal drew attention to the fact that some versions of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti for laptops actually show themselves much weaker than full-fledged models without Ti registration.
And yet, due to the reduced TGP, some mobile graphics models cannot compete with lower-end devices that do not have such restrictions. Experts cited the example of testing the MSI Stealth GS66 laptop with GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 105 W graphics: it showed a serious lag behind the RTX 3070-based XMG Apex 17 both in synthetic tests and in practice when playing Final Fantasy XV.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 105W is clocked at 1035MHz, much lower than the 150W (1485MHz) models. In synthetic tests, a difference of about 10% is visible, and in gaming – as much as 24%. Journalists believe that NVIDIA should advertise this difference in promotional materials, because users who rely solely on the name of the video card can be misled.
