Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced that GAC Mitsubishi Motors, Mitsubishi Motors’ joint venture vehicle manufacturing and sales company in China, will start selling the all-new Outlander in China on November 19.
The all-new Outlander is the flagship model of Mitsubishi Motors, designed according to the I-Fu-Do-Do product concept, which means “authentic and majestic” in Japanese. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with direct injection and a mild hybrid system (48 V) with a maximum output of 163 hp. and a maximum torque of 280 Nm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed CVT.
Crossover dimensions are 4710 x 1862 x 1745 mm with a wheelbase of 2706 mm. The cabin has a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 10.25-inch central control screen. The developer added a level 2 driving assistance system, as well as a collision avoidance system and obstacle recognition.
In addition, ride quality is improved with an upgraded electronically controlled 4WD system and S-AWC (Super-All Wheel Control). In China, a car costs between $24,100 and $32,600.
The Outlander was first released in 2001 and has become one of the flagship models in the company’s lineup, accounting for roughly 20% of global sales in recent years.
