The Russian Ministry of Digital Development expects to use the 700 MHz band, on which television and radio broadcasting networks currently operate, for fifth-generation communication networks. This was announced by the head of the department Maksut Shadayev.
“We are working with the broadcasters on the release of these frequencies. His [диапазон] can be used in agreement with the broadcasters. They do not need these frequencies, they have already been converted to digital. We plan to use [эти частоты]”, – the minister answered the question whether the Ministry of Digital Development plans to use this range.
Recall that in July this year, the Ministry of Digital Development proposed to deploy fifth-generation networks in the frequency range of 24.25-27.5 GHz.
