Mintsifra began to filter foreign traffic due to intensified DDoS attacks

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Russia announced the beginning of filtering Internet traffic coming from abroad. According to representatives of the department, such actions are associated with “unprecedented cyber attacks” on the websites of government bodies and commercial companies.

The Ministry announced the start of interdepartmental coordination in the new conditions. According to the latest data, only the number of vacancies related to information security in government agencies has increased by 69% over the past month . It is known that specialized specialists acting in the interests of commercial organizations are engaged in repelling attacks on companies.

According to the ministry, “now we are recording unprecedented attacks on government websites. If earlier their capacity at peak times reached 500 GB, now it is up to 1 TB. That is, two to three times more powerful than the most serious incidents of this type that were previously recorded .

According to the Interfax publication , the ministry announced unprecedented cyber attacks on the state information infrastructure on February 26. Thus, more than 50 DDoS attacks were registered on the public services portal, with a total capacity of more than 1 TB.
