Simultaneously, in 2024 Maruti Suzuki will introduce the new generation Swift hatchback and Desire compact sedan. According to media reports, Strong Hybrid technology can be provided in both these cars, which will help a lot in increasing mileage.
Reports suggest a new 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine can be found in the 2024 Maruti Swift and Desire. With this, Toyota’s Strong Hybrid technology can be provided, allowing the new Swift and Desire to deliver ARAI-certified mileage of up to 35-40 km / liter. If this happens, both these cars will become the most fuel efficient cars in the country. With this update, the new SWIFT and Desire will meet the upcoming CAFÉ II ( Corporate Average Fuel Economy ) standards.
Currently the Maruti Swift and Desire comes with a 1.2L, 4-cylinder K12N dualjet petrol engine, which generates 90bhp peak power and 113Nm Max torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. The manual variant gives mileage up to 23.30kmpl while the automatic variant gives mileage up to 21.12kmpl. Both models also come in CNG variants, which have higher mileage.
As far as the prices of the new 2024 Maruti Swift and Strong Hybrid version of Desire are concerned, it will be a very clear price increase. It can be more expensive than the standard petrol version from about 1 lakh rupees to 1.50 lakh rupees. Swift and Desire currently fall in the price range of Rs 5.92 lakh to Rs 8.85 lakh and Rs 6.24 lakh to Rs 9.18 lakh respectively. These prices are X-showroom.
