Recently, Microsoft announced on a deal to buy video game publisher Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. At the same time, Activision Blizzard shares soared from $62 to $82, while Sony shares fell by about 10%.
According to Sony, it hopes that Microsoft will honor its “contractual agreements and continue to provide multi-platform Activision games.” Now Activision Blizzard has officially confirmed that three new Call of Duty games will appear on the Xbox and PlayStation consoles. This is a new continuation of the Modern Warfare series from the studio Infinity Ward, which is expected to be released later this year. Treyarch’s new Call of Duty will follow next year. The third game will be a new version of the popular battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone.
