Microsoft has officially confirmed rumors regarding changes to the Windows 11 Start menu, unveiling two new methods for organizing the application list. One of these options bears a partial resemblance to the iOS app library.
As detailed in the official Microsoft blog, users will soon have access to two distinct application organization options: a grid layout with alphabetical sorting and automatic folder grouping. Notably, users will not have the ability to create custom folders in the latter option; applications are categorized automatically. These new features will be available for testing in the near future to users of the Windows 11 Insider Preview build (version 22635.4950 or later).
Microsoft has not yet announced a specific timeline for the release of the updated Start menu design in the stable version of Windows 11.
