To develop the electric vehicle ecosystem in India, MG Motors has announced the launch of ‘MG Charge’ to install 1000 chargers in residential areas of the country by 2025.
The company will install a SIM enabled Type 2 AC fast charger that will support all existing and upcoming electric vehicles. These chargers will be installed in societies and complexes where people will be able to use them 24 hours a day. These chargers will be functional in electric cars other than MG as well.
Indian customers are currently shying away from buying electric vehicles due to lack of charging infrastructure and less range of electric vehicles. In such a situation, EV cars can get a boost due to the installation of these chargers. With MG Charge, residents can keep their electric car on charge and relax at home.
Other charging solutions from the company include free Wallbox chargers (for office and home), public fast chargers at dealerships, three-point plug chargers and roadside charge on-the-go assistance.
MG forayed into the EV segment with the launch of its ZS EV car in 2020. The facelift version of this electric SUV car will be launched on March 7 . Its design will be brand new and many new features will also be given in it. It will come with a bigger battery pack, due to which its range will increase.
