Citroen eC3 vs MG Comet EV: The market of small electric cars in the country has started growing rapidly. After Tata Tiago EV, Citroën EC3 and now MG has launched Comet. All the three cars are of compact size and have been made for urban use. Today we are going to compare the new MG Comet electric car with the Citroën EC3, so let’s see their comparison.
MG Comet vs Citroen eC3: Design comparison
The MG Comet compact electric car is based on the company’s GSEV platform, which is dedicated for EVs. The car has been well designed with ample seating area for four people. It gets smaller 12-inch wheels, a boxy design, square windows and a large windshield. It looks very different from any other car in India. It gets DRLs at the front and an LED strip at the rear, the vertical headlights make it more attractive.
Whereas, the Citroen eC3 gets the same design as its ICE model. These include split headlight design and upright stance. At first glance, it looks like a regular C3. If you look closely, the charging socket flap will be found above the right front fender and the eC3 has a slightly higher floor compared to its ICE model due to battery adjustments.
Comet vs eC3: Powertrain
The MG Comet gets a 17.3kWh battery pack under the floor, which offers a range of 230 km. There is a single electric motor on the rear axle of the Comet that produces 38bhp power and 110Nm torque. Comet does not support fast charging and it takes 7 hours to charge from 0 to 100 percent.
The Citroen eC3 comes with a massive 29.2kWh battery pack. In which it is claimed to have a range of 320km. The electric motor fitted in it generates power of 56bhp and torque of 143Nm. It can be fully charged in about 10 hours with a regular charger and it takes 57 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent with a DC charger.
Comet vs eC3: Features
Dual 10.25-inch displays have been given as features in MG Comet, which serves as an infotainment system and an instrument console. Along with this, wireless smartphone connectivity, LED lighting, connected car tech, more than 100 voice commands and smartphone key system are available.
While the eC3 features a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a black and white instrument panel, LED lighting and a host of other features.
who would you choose
Before buying one of the electric cars you should consider your requirement. The MG Comet is good for city use but you cannot make it a primary vehicle, whereas the eC3 offers space, more range and fast charging. Although its price is slightly higher than Comet.
