MG Motor has started booking its MG Comet EV from today. You can book this small electric car of the company by paying an advance amount of just Rs 11,000. The company has also started its production.
MG Comet EV has been made available in three variants – Pace, Play and Plush. Talking about the price, the price of the MG Comet EV starts at Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Pace variant, which goes up to Rs 9.98 lakh for the top-spec Plush.
It is claimed to offer a range of 230 km on a single charge. It is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery that produces 42 hp of power and 110 Nm of torque. It is a 4-seater vehicle built on the GSEV platform.
The MG Comet EV gets a 3.3kW onboard charger and takes 7 hours to charge completely. MG Motor has not given the option of fast charging in the Comet EV. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an automatic gearbox.
Talking about the size, the length of the Comet EV is 2974 mm, width 1505 mm, height 1613 mm and its wheelbase is 2010 mm. MG Motor claims that the cost of running this electric car for 1000 km is only Rs 519.
Talking about the features, it has three USB ports, more than 55 linked features, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC setting, keyless entry, control positions on the steering wheel, two 10.25-inch screens, smart start system.
MG Comet EV gets 3 drive modes and 3 KERS modes. For safety, the Comet EV has dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear 3 point seatbelts, rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat.
The MG Comet EV’s battery has been put through 39 Battery Plus Car Safety Tests. It has 17 hot stamping panels which keep its structure stable. The smallest car of the country has been given 5 color options and more than 250 customization options.
