MG Air EV Vs Tata Tiago EV: The supply has also started amid bumper demand for affordable electric cars in India and it has started with the launch of its Tiago EV by Tata Motors. Now soon MG Motor India is also preparing to join this race and will soon launch its entry level electric car MG Air EV, which will be based on the Wuling Air EV sold in China. Recently this EV has been seen during testing. This EV of MG will compete with the Tata Tiago EV. In the past, the Tiago Electric will be priced between Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom). MG has also said that its electric car will be within the price range of up to Rs 10 lakh.

According to media reports, the MG Air EV can be offered in two variants like Standard Wheelbase (SWB) and Long (LWB) and they will be 1.6 meters long and 1.5 meters high respectively. MG’s electric car will be around 2.6 meters and 3 meters long. These cars will come in 3 seater and 4 seater options. Chances are it will show 2 doors. This electric car of MG will be very different and attractive to see. After that, it will see many features including a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, connected car technology and wireless connectivity.
Battery range up to 300 kms
MG Air EV, the upcoming electric car from MG Motor, can be offered with battery options of 30 kW and 50 kW, with a battery range of 200 km to 300 km. A single speed automatic gearbox will be seen in the MG Air EV. According to media reports, Tata AutoComp’s battery can be seen in MG’s upcoming electric car. This cheap electric car from MG will be launched early next year. It is pertinent to mention here that MG has not finalized the name of its electric car and MG Air EV is a possible name. MG Motor India currently sells powerful electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV in India.
