Mercedes had revealed the new generation C-Class sedan in February 2022, which featured advanced technology, completely new interiors and a new design similar to the flagship S-Class. The C-Class is known as the shorter S-Class. It resembles the flagship C-Class W223 in terms of design. It is also bigger than the old model in terms of size. It has a length of 4,793 mm, width of 2,033 mm, height of 1,446 mm and wheelbase of 2,865 mm.
Talking about the interiors, this sedan has been given an avant-grade cabin. It gets a split display setup, which includes a 12.3-inch driver display and an 11.9-inch infotainment system with fingerprint sensor. Apart from this, it gets a touch-capacitive switch on the steering wheel, uncluttered center console, new air-con vents, ambient lighting, sunroof, powered front seats, among other features.
Let us know that in some international markets, the C-Class sedan is being sold in four cylinder options C200, C300, C220d, C300d with hybrid engine option C300e. All these engines are mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. However, in the Indian market, the company will make the new sedan available only in petrol and diesel engine options.
Strong sales in the first quarter
Mercedes-Benz India reported its best ever quarter (January-March) sales in India. The company has registered the highest growth in this quarter with 4,022 units of cars delivered from January to March 2022. The company had sold 4,000 units of vehicles in the same period last year, which was the highest ever. The company said in a statement that its sedans and SUVs are in high demand in India.
In the first quarter (January-March) of this year, Mercedes-Benz’s E-Class sedan was the company’s best-selling model, while among the SUV models, the GLC and GLE were the most liked by customers. At the same time, the demand for the company’s premium AMG and super luxury models increased by 35 percent.
Mercedes-Benz may announce a hike in the price of its vehicles from this month. The luxury carmaker had earlier said that it would increase the prices of its cars by 3 per cent from April 2022. It is worth noting that since the beginning of the new year, the company has increased the price of its cars for the second time. According to Mercedes-Benz India, the price hike will range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh.
