Expanding its electric car lineup in India, Mercedes-Benz has launched two new models – the GLB and the all-electric EQB. Of these, the GLB is a 7-seater SUV, which gets two additional seats in the third row. On the other hand, the EQB car is an all-electric version of the GLB, whose design is similar to the GLB except for the front grille. Of course, there is a big difference in the powertrain between the two models.

The Mercedes-Benz GLB 200 is priced at Rs 63.80 lakh, while its 220d trim will be sold for Rs 66.80 lakh. The GLB 220d 4Matic trim has also been introduced, which costs Rs 69.80 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom. Whereas, talking about EQB, this car comes in 300 4Matic trim, whose ex-showroom price is Rs 74.50 lakh.

Coming to the specifications. The EQB all-electric car gets a dual-motor setup, which generates maximum power of 225 bhp and peak torque of 390 Nm. Mercedes claims that the electric SUV can do 0-100 km/h in just 8 seconds. Its top speed is 160 km/h.

The EQB gets a 66.5 kWh battery pack, which the company claims can deliver a range of 388-423 km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge. The car comes with an 11 kW AC charger, but if a 100 kW DC fast-charger is used, the battery can be charged from 10-80% in 32 minutes.

The GLB 200, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.3-litre petrol engine that produces 161 bhp power at 5,500 rpm and 250 Nm torque between 1,620-4,000 rpm.

The petrol engine is offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the diesel gets an 8-speed dual-clutch unit and optional all-wheel drive.
