Cellular operator MegaFon has been reinstated as a member of the international association of mobile operators GSMA. This is also indicated by the analysis of the GSMA website, and the operator himself confirmed this. MegaFon said that they received a notification from the GSMA about the restoration of the status of the operator. “We support this decision and we are pleased that it was accepted by our partners from the GSMA in such a short time”the company said.
MegaFon was expelled from the GSMA membership at the end of March, the reasons for this move were not reported. Other Russian operators (Tele2, MTS, Beeline, Fly (brand Tattelecom) and Motiv (Ural mobile operator)) were not affected by this measure. MegaFon is now listed on the GSMA website as a member along with all of these operators.
