The mega factory of Okinawa, the No. 1 electric two-wheeler brand by sales in India, will have state-of-the-art production facilities, which is a significant step towards building an integrated EV ecosystem in the country. This is the company’s third plant after setting up two huge factories in Rajasthan. This mega factory will be set up in an area of 30 acres and will provide employment to more than five thousand people. It is expected that this will be the largest fully integrated plant in India till date. A huge investment of 500 crores will be made in this factory. This mega factory will be fully operational from October 2023.
The plant, set up with the vision of Made in India and Made for India, will use automated technology to manufacture powertrains. Along with this, the process of manufacturing electric two-wheelers will also be made fully automated. The plant will also have an in-house automatic robotic battery manufacturing unit along with an in-house motor and controller plant. Here the plastic body parts of the vehicles will be robotically molded into a fixed and fixed mold automatically. There will also be a state-of-the-art paint shop, which will allow localization of the manufacturing process and this status will be maintained through this mega plant. This factory will be very important in view of the unprecedented demand for electric two-wheelers in the country.
