Meesho broke the record, 87.6 lakh orders were received on the first day itself, 80% jump in business

New Delhi. SoftBank-backed e-commerce firm Meesho on Saturday claimed that it received around 87.6 lakh orders on the first day of the five-day festive sale, ie Friday. With this, Meesho said that it has jumped about 80 percent in business. The company said in a statement that about 85 percent of the orders came in Tier 2, 3 and 4 cities on the first day.

Meesho has created a record of around 87.6 lakh orders on the first day of its flagship festive sale event and Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale. This is the highest number of orders recorded by the company in a single day, up almost 80 percent from the first day of sales last year. The company said it has received orders from all parts of the country, including Alappuzha, Chhindwara, Davengere, Hassan, Gopalganj, Guwahati, Siwan, Thanjavur, Jamnagar and Ambikapur.

Meesho said that around 6.5 crore active products have been listed at the lowest prices. According to the company, on the first day of the sale, there was a bumper sale of fashion, beauty and personal care products, home and kitchen items as well as electronic accessories. While some users made record-breaking purchases of a range of items ranging from sarees to analog watches, jewelery sets, mobile cases and covers and Bluetooth headphones to fulfill their festive shopping aspirations.

The company says that about 85 percent of the orders and about 75 percent of the sellers are coming from Tier 2 and beyond cities. We are fulfilling the demand of users in every part of the country.
