Now the Japanese company has recalled about 1,000 units of it. Due to the flaw found in the SUV, the seat belt can open at any time.

The Toyota Highrider has the same defect found in the front seat belts as in the Grand Vitara. However, so far no case of seat belt opening has been reported. The company says that it will inform the owners of the affected cars about it soon. If this defect is found in the recalled vehicle, it will be replaced at the authorized dealership of the company.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Specifications

The Urban Cruiser Hyrider comes with two engine options. This SUV comes with 1.5 liter four cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid technology and 5 speed manual or 6 speed automatic transmission. Apart from this, this car gets a 1.5 liter three cylinder petrol engine with strong hybrid technology, which is available in the market with e-CVT (planetary gearbox).

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrider: Price

The mild hybrid version of the Toyota Hyrider is available in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price of Rs 10.48 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh. Whereas, the ex-showroom price of Strong Hybrid version ranges from Rs 15.11 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh. Toyota may also launch the Hyryder CNG variant in the coming times.

Urban Cruiser Hyryder: Maruti also recalled

Let us tell you that Toyota produces the mid-size SUV Urban Cruiser Hyrider at the Bidadi plant in Karnataka. The Japanese company Maruti Suzuki also manufactures the Grand Vitara here. Toyota Highrider and Grand Vitara share the same powertrain, components and features. That’s why the same defect has been found in both these vehicles. That’s why Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have recalled their respective cars.
