The more expensive and powerful WagonR 1.2 could be powered by a new 1.2-litre DualJet engine that powers the Swift and the recently launched Baleno as well. The new WagonR 1.2 Dualjet will make 90 Bhp, which is 7 Bhp more than the older 1.2-litre engine. Maruti is expected to offer 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes on both the engine options.
In terms of mileage, the new engines will be more fuel efficient than the existing units. The new WagonR is expected to deliver a mileage of 25.19kpl, while the current hatchback 1.0 and 1.2-litre models give mileage of 21.79kpl and 20.5kpl respectively.
How much will be the price?
The WagonR is currently priced at Rs 5.18 lakh for the 1.0-litre variant to Rs 6.58 lakh for the top-spec 1.2-litre model. With the new engine, there may be a slight increase in the prices. Maruti is expected to announce the new prices of the WagonR along with the new engine option in March 2022.
The new Wagon R will continue with the same 7.0-inch touchscreen SmartPlay system, while more safety features are expected to be added to it. Features like dual airbags, hill hold assist and speed sensitive door lock will be standard on all variants. The Wagon R will continue to come with standard safety features which include rear parking sensors, speed warning, seat-belt reminder, among others.
2022 Maruti Baleno launched
Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Baleno in India. 2022 Maruti Baleno has been introduced with many new features and changes compared to its old model. It has been launched in India between Rs 6.35 lakh to Rs 8.99 lakh. The company has also made the new Baleno available on a subscription-based plan that starts at a monthly fee of Rs 13,999.
The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift is the first car in its segment to feature a colorful heads-up display. This feature adds to the premium appeal of this hatchback car. Headsup Display is a feature found in premium cars that allows the driver to get some other information like speed, rpm and mileage while driving on a panel built on the windscreen of the car. This keeps the driver’s attention on the road while driving.
The Baleno facelift has been introduced with new exterior and interior designs. The 2022 Baleno gets a new front look which includes a redesigned front grille, redesigned slim LED headlight, bumpers, fog lamps, bonnet and redesigned alloy wheels. At the same time, metallic black accents have been given on the dashboard with premium piano black finish in the interior.
