Upcoming Maruti Cars: Maruti Suzuki launched its first strong hybrid car Grand Vitara in the country last year. There are 6 trims of this car, and only the top two trims Zeta+ and Alpha+ get the strong hybrid powertrain. Toyota’s 1.5L, 3-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine has been used in it, which is capable of generating 92bhp power. While the power of 115 bhp is available with the e-CVT gearbox. Now the company is planning to introduce strong hybrid technology to its existing two cars as well.
Hybrid powertrain will be available in these cars
Maruti Suzuki will use the Atkinson cycle engine in its new generation Swift and Dzire, which are likely to be launched in 2024. All New Swift can come in the global market in the second half of this year. This new model will be based on a modified version of the Heartect platform. In this, a lot of changes can be seen with the best design and in the interior.
The new Maruti Swift and DZire will get a new 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine with strong hybrid technology. This engine will meet the upcoming CAFÉ II norms. According to the reports, the strong hybrid Swift and DZire are likely to get a mileage of around 35 to 40 kmpl. Thus, it will be the most fuel efficient car in India. The existing 1.2L Dualjet petrol and CNG options will be retained in the lower models of these cars. It will get the option of both manual and AMT gearboxes.

Talking about the features, the next generation Swift and DZire are expected to get features like Suzuki Voice Assist and wireless smartphone connectivity with OTA (over-the-air) updates, a new SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system.
How much will be the cost?
The 2024 Maruti Swift and DZire’s strong hybrid models will cost around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.50 lakh more than their regular petrol models.
Competes with Tata Tiago
Maruti Suzuki’s Swift competes with Tata Tiago, in which a 1.2 liter petrol engine is available. This car is also available with CNG. It gets the option of manual and AMT transmission.
