Maruti Suzuki’s hatchback cars are selling a lot, in August 2022 sales crossed 1.65 lakh units

This is a significant jump compared to the same period last year. In August 2021, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,30,699 units with domestic sales of 1,05,775 units, while 4,305 units were sold to other OEMs and 20,619 vehicles were exported.

In the domestic sales of August this year, Maruti Suzuki sold 22,162 cars in the mini segment, which includes offerings like Alto and S-Presso. Maruti Suzuki saw maximum sales in the compact segment. The carmaker sold 71,557 units in this segment which includes cars like Baleno, Celerio, DZire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, WagonR.

Car sales in the passenger vehicle segment increased from 68,184 units in August last year to 95,235 units in August this year. In the mid-size segment, the company sold 1,516 units of the Ciaz sedan. In the utility vehicles segment, which sold 26,932 units of cars like Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6.

The auto giant sold 11,999 units in the van segment, with the company’s only Eeco MPV being sold. The company’s total domestic passenger vehicle sales (passenger vehicles) stood at 134,166 units. Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) which includes Super Carry managed to achieve sales of 3,371 units last month.+

Maruti believes that even after increasing the share of SUVs in the Indian car market, the sales of the company’s hatchback cars are still doing well. Hisashi Takeuchi, CEO, Maruti Suzuki India believes that there are many customers in India who prefer small cars over SUVs. Hence the company will continue to offer smaller cars in the market.

Let us tell you, Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Alto K10 (Maruti Suzuki Alto K10) in India on 18 August. Equipped with the new K10 series petrol engine, the Alto K10 has been launched in the market at a starting price of Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The price of the top variant of the new Alto goes up to Rs 5.83 lakh.

The new Maruti Alto K10 has been introduced in a completely new design. Its design has been improved and it now looks bigger and more stylish than the Alto 800. The design of the Alto K10 is inspired by the new Celerio, due to which some of its design elements are similar to the Celerio. The Alto K10 gets a bigger honeycomb grille than before. Apart from this, it has been given a newly designed oval headlight and tail light.
