Maruti Suzuki, which is recognized as the country’s largest company, said that in the last two years, 3 million units of WagonR have been sold. In 2008, it reached the figure of 5 lakh units. Then in 2017, the figure of 20 lakh units was touched. So in 2021, 25 lakh units were sold. Five lakh more cars have been sold since 2021 and this number has crossed 30 lakh.
Two petrol engines available in the Indian market
Before the Maruti Suzuki WagonR, the Maruti 800 was considered a middle class car in India. Later this car was replaced by WagonR. This car was launched to compete with the Santro. But the WagonR left behind the Santro and ruled the hearts of Indians. The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is equipped with safety features like Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Currently, this car has two petrol engines available in the Indian market. There are 1.0 liter and 1.2 liter petrol engines. It has a high speed manual transmission gear box. At the same time, it also has a CNG variant. The price of this car in the Indian market is between 5.54 Lakh to 7.42 Lakh. The special thing is that Maruti Suzuki WagonR is the most stolen car in the country. The blue WagonR car of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also stolen. Police seized the car from Ghaziabad after investigation.
