Maruti Suzuki Swift, priced at ₹6.49 lakhs, emerged as the top-selling car in the Indian market, dethroning Tata Punch from its number-one position. With features like a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic AC, wireless phone charging, and connected car technology, the cabin of the Swift offers a luxurious experience.
After securing the top position in car sales for several months, Tata Punch faced a significant setback as the recently launched fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift surpassed it in May 2024. During this period, the Swift sold a total of 19,393 units, outperforming Tata Punch, which garnered 19,158 customers in April 2024. Notably, Maruti Suzuki Swift has sold over 30 lakh cars in India, solidifying its position as a favorite among consumers.
In addition to overtaking Tata Punch, other popular models like Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Maruti Suzuki WagonR, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Hyundai Creta were also surpassed by the Maruti Suzuki Swift in car sales last month.
The updated Maruti Suzuki Swift is equipped with a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, delivering a maximum power of 82bhp and peak torque of 112Nm. Paired with a 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox, the Swift boasts an impressive mileage of 24.8 km per liter in the petrol manual variant and 25.75 km per liter in the petrol automatic variant.
Featuring standard safety enhancements such as 6-airbags, rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera, the Maruti Suzuki Swift ensures a safe and comfortable ride for passengers. Competing with models like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the Swift offers a starting ex-showroom price ranging from ₹6.49 lakhs to ₹9.64 lakhs for the top model.
