Alto and S-Presso are sold in the Mini segment and the company has sold 19,691 units in this, which is a decline of 17.81% as compared to 23,959 units in February 2021. While Swift, which sells Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire in the compact segment, the company has sold 77,795 units in this, registering a decline of 3.38% as compared to 80,517 units in February 2021.
The company has sold 1,912 units in the mid-size sedan segment as against 1,510 units sold as of February 2021. While Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, Ertiga sells in UV segment, the company has sold 25,360 units in it, which is a decline in sales as compared to 26,884 units in February 2021. However, the company has exported 24,021 units which is almost double as against 11,486 units.
The company is bringing electric car
Maruti Suzuki and Toyota are in talks to manufacture electric cars at the company’s Gujarat plant, although no final decision has been taken on this side yet. Both the companies are going to make electric vehicles together, the company had told that their first car is going to come by 2025. So this is going to be a big decision.
The trend of electric cars is increasing continuously in the country and in such a situation, Maruti Suzuki is also preparing to bring the car. In such a situation, Suzuki and Toyota are going to develop electric vehicles by partnering together. The company is going to build it on the skateboard platform which is based on Toyota’s 40L electric architecture. This electric car is going to be 4.2 meters long and its wheelbase is going to be 2.7 meters.
It is going to come with a bigger battery pack, due to which it is going to provide a longer range. It is reported that it can be brought with two battery packs 48kWh and 59kWh which is going to provide a range of about 400 km and 500 km. Its smaller battery pack produces 138 Bhp of power and 170 Bhp of power. It could be a car with all wheel drive system.
Under this partnership, the company is going to bring a mid-size SUV, the company has started its preparation. This SUV will be brought with hybrid technology, as well as there will be no shortage of modern features and technology. This new mid-size SUV can be brought on Diwali this year, the company can share its information in the coming months.
The trend of mid-size SUVs is increasing rapidly in the country. Hyundai launched the Creta in 2015 and has been ruling it since then Kia brought the Seltos, followed by Skoda, Volkswagen, Renault, MG Motor and companies like Tata and Mahindra have also entered this segment. But till now the country’s largest car maker Maruti is not catching anything special.
