Mumbai: Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the company’s special Jimny 5-door off-road SUV car in the country by the end of this month. The company started taking bookings for this car from January itself. The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is preparing to manufacture more than 20 lakh cars this year. In the current financial year, it plans to produce a record 2.2 million passenger cars and SUVs. The company is working towards increasing its production capacity to capture the fast growing SUV market in the country and compete strongly with its other competitors. In the last financial year also, the company has joined hands with supplier partners to fulfill its plans.
Production will increase by 12%
The company’s pre-orders have increased due to the increasing enthusiasm and good response of the new models among the consumers. The company also needs to increase production to meet the demand. According to the company’s plan, the target is to increase the production rate by about 12% in the current financial year. If Maruti Suzuki manages to increase production, it will be the third consecutive year of record production growth for the company.
What did the company say?
Maruti plans to produce 2.2 million cars in the fiscal year 2023-24, up from 2 million last year, of which 279,000 cars will be exported. This will help the company achieve its target of doubling industrial production. Shashank Srivastava, Maruti’s senior executive for sales and marketing, declined to comment on the company’s production targets at this point, but reiterated that the company expects to do well.
