The company has launched the updated Eco MPV at an initial price of Rs 5.10 lakh ( X-showroom ). It will be sold in 13 variants including a 5-seater configuration, 7-seater configuration, cargo, tour and ambulance versions। In the new avatar, this car also gets an upgrade to the engine with exteriors. It will also be available in CNG kit with petrol engine.
Maruti Eco is currently the best-selling van in the country and also the cheapest 7 seater car. Maruti Suzuki India Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales; Shashank Srivastava reported, “Eco has been bought by more than 9.75 lakh people in the last decade since launch. It is the leader of its segment with 93% market share.”
Engine and mileage
The Eco now features Maruti’s new 1.2-liter Dualjet petrol engine. This is the same engine found in Desire, Swift, Baleno and the rest of the models. It gives power of 80.76 PS at 6,000 rpm and peak torque output of 104.4 Nm. It is more powerful than the old engine. Running on CNG reduces power to 71.65 PS and torque falls to 95 Nm. If the company believes, its mileage in petrol engine is 20.20 km / liter and with CNG up to 27.05 km / kg. This is 29 percent more fuel efficient than the previous engine.
Features of Maruti Suzuki Eeco
Maruti Suzuki Eco gets reclining front seats, cabin air filters ( AC variants ) and a new battery saver function. It gets new digital instrument clusters, new steering wheel, and rotary control for AC. Engine immobilizer for safety, Hazard switch, Dual airbags, EBD with ABS, Child lock and reverse parking sensors for doors and windows are provided.
