The port has made separate arrangements for vehicle units. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company said, “The commencement of exports from Kamarajar Port will help us reach out to a wider base of customers. This initiative will also reduce congestion at Mumbai Port, Mundra Port and Pipavav Port. Presently the company exports vehicles from all these three ports.

Maruti Suzuki said that in 2021-22 it had exported more than 2.38 lakh vehicles to more than 100 countries, which was its highest export. The company will also continue to export from Mumbai Port, Mudra Port and Pipavav Port. Kamarajar Port Limited Chairman and CEO Sunil Paliwal said, “Maruti Suzuki is a major contributor to India’s exports and our association with this company will further expand our operations.” (agency)
