Maruti MPV: Maruti’s Innova Highcross based MPV is coming, will be launched in next two months, know details

The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki (Maruti Suzuki) on Wednesday officially confirmed that it is going to launch the Toyota Innova Hycross (Toyota Innova Hycross) based three-row vehicle in the Indian car market in the next two months. The automaker said that this three-row vehicle will be positioned at the top of its large product portfolio. The company is betting big on utility vehicles (UV) to increase its massive market share.

Speaking to the media, Maruti Suzuki India President RC Bhargava has confirmed that the new three-row model is not being introduced to boost sales. But it will be a very premium offering, probably with annual sales of less than 10,000 units. He said, “It will be a tremendous car with strong hybrid technology. It will be launched in the next two months. The sales numbers (sales figures) will ultimately depend on the situation once the car hits the market. Toyota’s vehicle waiting at this time Period is 12 months.

There is an agreement between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota, under which many models of both companies are similar. The most recent of which are the Grand Vitara and the Urban Cruiser Hyrider. Both these mid-size SUVs are being manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant. Earlier, models like Baleno and Glanza, and Brezza and Urban Cruiser were re-badged versions of each other.

The next big launch from Maruti is going to be the much awaited Maruti Suzuki Jimny. But while this lifestyle SUV may grab a lot of attention from the customers, Maruti’s MPV could also grab a lot of headlines. However, it will have a special place in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup of passenger vehicles.

The company already has MPV models like Ertiga and XL6 which are quite popular among the customers. But the upcoming three-row model could potentially create a whole new segment for the company. This is also especially important as the company does not see any drop in demand for its small vehicles in 2023-24 as they are in the budget of the customers.
